Minimally Invasive Surgery
The Atlanta Ambulatory Surgery Center and its surgeons perform hundreds of minimally invasive surgery procedures each and every year. We have the capability to perform a variety of non-emergency minimally invasive procedures such as:
- No neck scar thyroid removal. By accessing the thyroid gland from the underarm, we effectively eliminate the readily visible scarring associated with this procedure in the past.
- Breast surgeries including lumpectomy and mastectomy involve the removal of cancerous breast tissue to stop the spread of the disease. We also perform partial or total mastectomies depending on the placement and spread of the malignant tumor.
- Hernia repairs and other necessary procedures.
Our team of physicians, surgeons and nurses are highly trained and skilled in these procedures and focus on patient safety and comfort.
The procedures are performed using advanced laparoscopic techniques minimizing recovery time, blood loss, pain and scarring. This also means that our patients will be discharged from our facility on the same day as they arrived, assuming that there are no complications during or after surgery.
Patients should follow the guidelines set out for them for before, during and after surgery. The majority of the time that they will spend healing will be unsupervised and at home, so following doctor’s orders will minimize the risk of complications or infections.
