Cosmetic Surgery
Our surgeons perform a range of cosmetic surgery procedures – not to change our patients’ appearance, but to enhance their natural beauty. Most often performed to sculpt a body or to correct excess skin associated with extreme weight loss after bariatric surgery or pregnancy, our surgeons offer a full line of procedures including:
- Tummy Tucks, which eliminate some of the excess skin in the abdominal area after extreme weight loss due to bariatric surgery or pregnancy.
- Breast Lifts, meant to correct sagging as a result of extreme weight loss by removing excess skin tissue and bringing the nipple to a higher level.
- Breast Augmentation which increases the size of the breast and can add volume to the breast after significant breast surgery, or after volume loss due to extreme weight loss.
- Body Lifts, which target the upper or lower part of the body – or both, will tighten the skin around the areas affected most by excess or sagging skin.
Each of these procedures is performed in a minimally invasive manner and patients will be able to return home the same day of the procedure with less pain, blood loss and a shorter recovery time. The nature of the procedures means reduced visible scarring, allowing for a more pleasant aesthetic result.
Most insurance plans do not cover cosmetic surgery as it is not usually a medical necessity. We do however offer various financing options that you can explore by speaking to outpatient care specialists.
Cosmetic surgery should not be taken lightly as it does carry a degree of risk. Patients who undergo a cosmetic procedure should prepare for it as if preparing for major surgery. After surgery, they should follow their physician’s aftercare plan closely, to ensure proper healing and minimal scarring.
