Paying for Surgery
Paying for surgery is at the forefront of the minds of most of our patients. While many patients will have insurance coverage, we also understand that some procedures will not be covered under insurance and other times patients will not have insurance. For those cases, we employ dedicated staff of insurance, self-pay and financing specialists to help our patients with their surgical options.
In most cases, the patient will have three options to pay for their surgery:
- Insurance may cover most bariatric and minimally invasive procedures performed at our facility. We work hard to make sure we are in-network with as many insurance companies as we can and we are always adding new plans to the list. In order for procedures to be covered by insurance, it will have to be considered a medical necessity, which is why cosmetic surgery is rarely, if ever, covered by medical insurance plans. Our insurance specialists will work with you to compile a complete insurance application and pre-authorization to ensure smooth coverage approval.
- Some patients will choose to self-pay for their procedure. Patients who decide to take this route may be able to avoid many of the strict requirements that the insurance companies impose and will also avoid what is sometimes a long and cumbersome insurance approval process. Please speak to one of our billing specialists to learn more about cash pay rates for the procedure that you wish to undergo.
- For those who cannot secure insurance coverage or who cannot self-pay, we also offer financing options from third-party providers. Financing, whether medical specific or secured by the patient, will require the payment of interest charges that could vary depending on the source of the financing. When dealing with any sort of financing, it is important that patients understand the additional costs of the financing and factor that into the overall cost of the surgery.
No matter what payment option our patients decide is important they speak to our billing specialists to get a complete overview of the options available to them and the costs associated.
